Atlantic City and USA

Atlantic City has lost 11,000 jobs and may lose more. This economic unraveling is not a result of out of state near by casinos. There is a refusal of admission.

The Atlantic City failure is on several levels. The first, a saturation of casinos. Two, leisure societies depend on a disposable income. Since people are involved in the race to the bottom, the land of the $25 hamburger is suffering. Three, Atlantic City is a victim of the Kalamazoo Effect. Useless investing in frivolous ventures, like Semi Pro sports. Atlantic City has failed twice.

The Rust Belt is the informal description for a postindustrial region straddling the Northeastern and the East North Central States, referring to economic decline, population loss and >urban decay due to the shrinking of its once powerful industrial sector. The term gained popularity in the United States in the 1980s.

The Rust Belt begins in central New Yorkand traverses to the west through Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, and the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, ending in northern Illinois and easternWisconsin. However, a broader definition of the Rust Belt sometimes includes post-industrial cities inNew Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware northward into New England

As well as those in central Illinois extending into Missouri. Previously it was known as the industrial heartland of America. However, industry has been declining in the region since the mid-20th century due to a variety of economic factors, such as the transfer of manufacturing to the <a title="Southeastern United States" Southeast, increased automation, the decline of the US steel and coal industries, globalization and internationalization. While some cities and towns have managed to adapt by shifting focus towards a services economy, others have not fared as well, witnessing rising poverty and declining populations.

Franklin County Massachusetts, United States. Greenfield was first settled in 1686. The population was 17,456 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Franklin County.
Greenfield Community College, the Pioneer Valley Symphony Orchestra, and the Franklin County Fair. The city has a Main Street Historic District containing fine examples of Federal architecture,Greek Revival, and Victorian architecture.

Unfortunately, the factories have left Greenfield has an economic depression with a huge heroine problem and developed homeless. Once an example of the American Dream, like many US Cities is an economically dead town.

The government has failed to save Americans and have left the economic favoritism of wall street to financially nuking Main Street USA.

In a Coal Town in Kentucky, miners made $600 a week. The city was like a small Paris, when the Coal industry automated.  90% of the work force was let go, thus all the other businesses where effected. And most town businesses where economically devastated.

I've read and reviewed a book by a former Goldman Sacks banker who also thought the Wall Street banks had gone to heck in a hand basket.   The government demonstrates a deep and continuing bias to favor large banks, especially by the Treasury Department. It doesn't matter which party holds the administrative branch. Stated goals of giving money straight to the banks included to get lending going again. Yet nothing was done to tie money freely given to banks to any performance in lending. In large part because of this, foreclosures even now continue unabated and people cannot readily sell their homes.

No more constitutional democratic republic. It never reached the ideals it proclaimed to hold but it was at least moving in that direction since the 1960s. Then the silent coup d'etat happened and the fascists came in from out of the dark. They now operate freely, visibly, and control everything from the federal government to city councils which they bribe with DHS grant money. Idiotic council members are too blind to see that they are selling out the country.

The refusal of a social contract or even a living wage or universal income, that war on all things social have destroyed the average American and this will get worse.

A new Harris Survey finds a lack of pay raises has replaced job security as the number one source of economic depression and collapse, effecting American in a negative world.
