Quality of Life

Americans now have he lowest quality of life in the world. While Europe the idea the “Life is meant to be Lived”, doesn’t wash in the USA. Europeans get six weeks paid vacation, National Health Care, THe EU is about to introduce the Youth Guarantee and Universal Income. The USA is not even going to address issues of poverty and lack of quality of life. While conservatives hawk off “No Europeanisms” many except that with dedline.
Health care is guaranteed in every EU country: for example, In France, Italy and Germany the health system seems to be fairing better in every country.
Taxation in Europe, stating that in all European countries taxation will be about 50% of your income. This may be true in Germany but it is definitely not true in Switzerland. On average, a Swiss family earning $150,000 per year will pay about 25% of its income to the tax man, and that includes pension fund contributions, social security contributions and health care (which is paid individually by choosing between a plethora of not-for-profit health private care providers that are required by law to provide assistance to all customers and cannot deny care for any reason. Americans have seen a cost of living increase since 1972 which would make our incomes $22.00 an hour.

The Happy Planet Index, introduced in 2006, is unique among quality of life measures in that, in addition to standard determinants of well-being, it uses each country’s ecological footprint as an indicator. As a result, North American nations do not dominate this measure. The 2012 list is instead topped by Costa Rica, Vietnam and Colombia.]
Gallup researchers trying to find the world’s happiest countries found Denmark to be at the top of the list. Switch publishes an annual quality of life index for European countries. France has topped the list for the last three years.[ In America we embracethe Rat Race.
Jimmy Reid, Glasgow University rectoral address, 1972. Said:
” “A rat race is for rats. We’re not rats. We’re human beings. Reject the insidious pressures in society that would blunt your critical faculties to all that is happening around you, that would caution silence in the face of injustice, lest you jeopardise your chances of self-promotion and self-advancement. This is how it starts. And before you know where you are, you’re a fully paid-up member of the rat pack. The price is too high. It entails the loss of your dignity and human spirit.”
Europeans have, not only six weeks paid vacation, but sick days and one can quit their jobs.
In Denmark People can feel socially secure in Denmark—at least for now. People don’t get rich from welfare but they can live a comfortable life. Practically all people are eligible for one program or another. In the early 1970s only about 300,000 people of working age lived full-time all year on government welfare. Today it is about 900,000. Automation is killing jobs world wide.
The UNs view on Hapiest Countries, The residents of Switzerland are the most satisfied with their lives, according to the latest Better Life Index report, released this week by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Switzerland has moved up to the top spot, bumping Denmark to fifth. For the third year, the United States failed to make the top 10, while countries like Canada, Mexico and all the Scandinavian nations did.
We are a nation that is absolutely consumed by fear, stress, anger and depression. It isn’t just our economy that is falling apart – the very fabric of society is starting to come apart at the seams and it is because of what is happening to us on the inside. The facts and statistics find that there is clear evidence that America is a nation that is an advanced state of decline. We are overwhelmed by fear, stress and anxiety, and much of the time the ways that we choose to deal with those emotions lead to some very self-destructive behaviors. The United States in Unhappy because we refuse to address the quality of life in the sense of the social and real democracy. We choose not to embrace European values, Human values for many reasons. We must change an have a more human society. Not a Europeanism. All people in the world function the same way and when social effects happen, if political society works people can be happy. In The USA thisisn’t even on the table.

  1. Are you just stupid or a liar? “Americans now have he lowest quality of life in the world” Where the HELL did you get this from?

The US is ranked ABOVE many EU countries and is obviously WAY above much of Asia and all of Africa and South America.

Seriously if you want anyone to take you seriously, how can you post such blatantly false things? Politics have nothing to do with it, its just not true. I’d suggest moving to Zimbabwe, seeing as how you think it has a better quality of life.
