Hope and Revolution

The Occupied Movement is successful in some ways and a failure in others. What the people need is hope and revolution.
I have been a Socialist and Activist since 1972. I have seen protests come and go.
The Occupied movement is a refreshing change.
Occupy Wall Street (OWS) is an ongoing protest movement that began on September 17, 2011 in Zuccotti Park, located in New York City’s Wall Street financial district. The Canadian activist group Adbusters initiated the protest, which has led to Occupy protests and movements around the world. The main issues are social and economic inequality, greed, corruption and the corrupt financial influence of corporations on government—introducing George H Bush’s global hegemony and New Word Order . The OWS slogan, We are the 99%, addresses the growing income inequality and war against the poor and working class in the U.S. The wealthiest 1% and the rest of the population. To achieve their goals, protesters act on consensus-based decision made in general assemblies which and emphasize direct action over petitioning authorities for redress.
This movement has some failures. The Revolutionaries cannot just sit in the Park all day and hope for change, they need to get up and start revolting as in Egypt, Syria, and Libya.
They need to run Candidates, seize the halls of power, and endorse candidates.
Lets face it, no Revolution works with out a change in government or changing government (away from the Democrats and Republicans.)
Either they say there are no demands and that leaves your critics confused. Or they say that demands for social equality, that demands for economic justice are impossible demands and impossible demands are just not practical. But we disagree. If hope is an impossible demand then we demand the impossible
Consciousness raising and constant protests are a waste of time. It didn’t work in the 60’s, it wont work now. A fundamental change in power or organizational structures that takes place in a relatively short period of time.
A Revolutionary Wave is a series of revolutions occurring in various locations in a similar time period. In many cases, past revolutions and revolutionary waves may inspire current ones, or an initial revolution inspires other concurrent “affiliate revolutions” with similar aims. We need to unify and converge on Washington DC.
We need hope, we need revolution, and we need change. Occupy remains energetic, but nothing is happening of more important relevance with real change.
The American Labor Party reflects the Occupy Wall Street Movement. Democratic Socialism is the answer to our political mainstream. Communist and Marxist Parties are like trading off one 1% for another 1%.
Only fighting for a real and true Democracy works. Change in Government is the answer.
The fight for social justice and a new democracy only works. The best Occupied can do is seize the halls of power, locally, state wide, and Nationally. In my town I am running for Mayor. Occupy City Hall! My agenda is one of Rent Control and other issues.

This should be a example of revolution and may others pick up and carry the torch.
Don’t just sit there waving your fists at the gods. Revolt for real with a real Revolution.
Gives us Liberty! Give us Democracy! Get off your butt and do something. Lets make a Revolutionary wave, a revolutionary Tsunami. Life is so hopeless for so many, and so many need hope and revolution. A raise and Revolt.
