Japan Sinks

Capitalism finally rears its ugliest head. The Japanese Tsunami in Fukushima and Sendai Are teaching us examples of what dangerous force Capitalism is.
When I was a kid, I had a model rail set. I powered it by hooking up a bike generator to a motor, which was powered by solar sells (9 Volts). And it was attached to a rechargeable battery.
My set was based on a small city, which was run quite well on the generator plant I made. I cold have run the set forever on the generator at no charge.

The Obama administration, just months ago, asked Congress to provide a $4 billion loan guarantee for two new nuclear reactors to be built and operated on the Gulf Coast of Texas – by TEPCO and local partners. With Katrina in the past, more negelgence from the government will mean more disaster. Here are the facts about TEPCO and the industry you haven’t heard on CNN:

The failure of emergency systems at Japan’s nuclear plants comes as no surprise to those who have worked in the field. Nuclear plants the world over must be certified for what is called “SQ” or “Seismic Qualification.” The most inexpensive way to meet your SQ is to lie and the industry does it all the time. Three Mile Island and Chernobyl was run by profit mongering Corporations or at least negligent governments.

What folks designed this system? One of the reactors dancing with death at Fukushima Station 1 was built by Toshiba. Toshiba was also an architect of the emergency diesel system.

Obama’s $4 billion bailout in the making is called the South Texas Project. It’s been sold as a yankee doodle way to make power domestically with a reactor from Westinghouse, a great American brand. However, the reactor will be made substantially in Japan by the company that bought the USA brand name, Westinghouse – Toshiba.

CNN is only interested in body counts, how many workers burnt by radiation, swept away or lost in the explosion. These plants are now releasing radioactive steam into the atmosphere. Be skeptical about the statements that the “levels are not dangerous.” These are the same people who said these meltdowns could never happen. Over years, not days, there may be a thousands who will suffer from cancers induced by this radiation. Indeed, the fact that residents near the
Japanese nuclear plants were not issued iodine pills to keep at the ready shows TEPCO doesn’t care about the lives of these people, whether in Japan or the USA. The carcinogenic isotopes that are released at Fukushima are already floating to Seattle and points west with effects we simply cannot measure.

The leader of Green Peace and even Sir Bob Geldoff have recently come out pro Nukes saying that there obviously has never been a great disaster. This changes everything.

With the fear of terrorism, the disrespect for natural disasters and calamities exceeds rationale. Big Business sees nature as being in its way. And believes it can control nature and nothing will ever happen.

This denial is also the product of drug attics and gambling attics. People to greedy to accept reality. If anything from space, a flood, or earth quake hit one of those reactors, we know the results.

Alternative energy is possible, and with imagination and engineering we could have better alternatives to the common. With gas price gouging. Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia are our largest producers, Libya produces 1 %. The Petro dollar drops, gas and oil goes up in price.

Nukes and traditional sources of electricity are ways Corporations keep us poor. Over charging and fighting alternative energies. The ugly world of Capitalism continues its war on all of us. Trying to keep us isolated, ossified, and fearful.
